FIRST STEP: THE GATHER
In the above clip, molten glass is collected from a furnace and wrapped on the end of a pipe. The molten glass is then shaped and air will be blown through the pipe.
SECOND STEP: BLOWING AND SHAPING
The artist blows air through the pipe to create an air bubble. Next, various tools are used to form the body.
THIRD STEP: APPLYING THE FOOT
Molten glass is collected, added to the lamp, and shaped into a foot for the lamp.
FOURTH STEP: APPLYING THE HANDLE
After re-heating the top of the lamp, another piece of molten glass is added and shaped to form the handle.
After the process of making the lamp is complete. The piece will be sent to a cooling oven where it will remain overnight until it cools down to room temperature.
